Consultation: Master's Thesis Policy

Feedback is invited from staff, students and other interested parties on the revised Master’s Thesis Policy.

The Master’s Thesis Policy (version dated 17 November 2015) was due for routine review. This was carried out by the Faculty of Graduate Research Board during 2017. The updated document was further considered by Academic Committee at its May 2018 meeting and additional amendments incorporated. Please refer to the marked-up version of the policy and the summary of changes document below.

The closing date for feedback on the Master’s Thesis Policy is Tuesday 5 June.  Please provide feedback to pg-research@vuw.ac.nz.

Final outcome: Centre for Academic Development and ITS Learning and Research Technology team change proposal

The final outcome document resulting from the decisions made on the Centre for Academic Development and ITS Learning and Research Technology team change proposal is now available.

The outcome document summarises the major themes of the submissions received and contains the Decision Panel’s responses, including its decisions and recommendations. The document contains information on the new structure, including new and revised role descriptions. The new structure for CAD will be effective from 1 June 2018.

Consultation: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework (2018–2023)

Submissions are invited from staff, students and other interested parties on the proposed new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework (2018–2023).

The newly drafted Framework will replace the current Equity and Diversity Policy (effective from 1 October 2014) and the former University Equity and Diversity Strategy (2010–2014).  This new Framework aligns closely to the University’s Strategic Plan.  It will serve as the Framework for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion work programmes, and includes the distinct equity groups for both staff and students.  Following formal approval of the new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Framework, specific action plans will be developed for each identified equity group, taking into consideration work that is already underway and the differing needs of students, academic and professional staff.

The closing date for submissions on the draft Framework is Friday 25 May 2018.  Please provide submissions to policy-help@vuw.ac.nz
